The Alpine Appeal: Why the Mountains Must Not Become a Fun Park

How Greed and Mass Tourism Are Destroying the Alps
The renowned alpine expert, filmmaker, and journalist Georg Bayerle has observed this development for several decades, both personally and professionally. In his polemic "Alpine Appeal," Bayerle analyzes the condition of an increasingly fragile ecosystem with brutal honesty, questioning the alpine economy based purely on exploitation – and he shows pathways for the future on how we can still save this magnificent mountain range in the heart of the continent from ourselves.
Georg Bayerle has written several books and, due to his expertise, this evening promises an exciting "journey" into the Alps, which are particularly suffering from climate change.

Georg Bayerle has worked at the Bavarian Radio since 1999 as an expert on mountain and environmental issues. Over the course of his professional career, he has produced hundreds of documentaries and numerous radio contributions. For BR Reisen, he regularly designs and conducts cultural trips, mainly in Europe. Bayerle has already received several awards in Germany.
